A visually engaging metronome designed to stimulate musical creativity rather than just technical precision. This tool provides animated beat patterns that enhance visual focus akin to following a conductor during practice sessions.
Offering the ability to practice rhythmically without audible clicks, while maintaining a steady tempo, it features traditional musical beat patterns derived from centuries of performance practice across various musical genres and meters.
This metronome proves invaluable for conductors adopting the Conductor's Point of View technique. It incorporates conducting patterns rooted in Max Rudolf's renowned "Grammar of Conducting" along with over two decades of professional conducting expertise.
Instructions:
- Double-tap to initiate. Swipe horizontally or pinch the screen to cease.
- Utilize a long press for Tap Tempo, tapping twice or more to set the tempo, then await as the conducting animation begins.
Features:
- Adjust tempo from 16 to 256 bpm via various methods, including dragging, +/- buttons, or Tap Tempo functionality.
- The lite version offers 2 beat patterns (meters), while the paid version includes a diverse range of 48 meters.
- Select from Staccato, Neutral, Legato, and Reduced pattern styles based on preference.
- Display patterns from either the Performer's or Conductor's Point of View.
- Choose between 2, 3, or 4 subdivisions of the beat to suit your practice requirements.
- Opt to include 0, 1, or 2 'pick-up' beats for quicker immersion into playing.
Note: Preferences set in Maestro Lite are demo-only and not saved.
Additional Preferences:
- Experiment with 16 'tick and 'tock' sounds.
- Customize colors of the baton, pattern, and text elements as desired.
- Adjust transparencies of the beat pattern and background image for personalized aesthetics.
About Pattern Variations and Reductions:
- A bar in 5/4 time can be divided as either 3+2 or 2+3 based on the music's requirements.
The 'Reduced' Style:
At higher tempos, intricate patterns simplify without losing the core rhythm, adapting intelligently to maintain clarity.
Conductor's Point of View:
An automatic feature that adjusts beat patterns for conductor-oriented learning and practice sessions. It visually guides conductors on their baton trajectory during each beat cycle.
Performer’s Point of View:
Showcases the conductor’s beat pattern as perceived by ensemble musicians, ideal for instrumentalists honing their craft.
This tool supports all screen orientations for added convenience when connected to external devices.
